The Ducks have signed defenseman Jacob Larsson to a three-year entry-level contract. Per club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Larsson, 19 (4/29/97), made his North American debut with the San Diego Gulls in Game 2 of the American Hockey League (AHL) Pacific Division Finals on May 7 vs. Ontario. The 6-2, 191-pound defenseman played a majority of the 2015-16 season with Frolunda of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL), scoring 5-9=14 points with a +11 rating and 10 penalty minutes (PIM). Larsson also added three assists (0-3=3) in 16 playoff games to help Frolunda to the SHL Championship.

Selected by Anaheim in the first round (27th overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft, Larsson has represented his country at the 2016 World Junior Championship in Helsinki, the 2015 Under-18 World Junior Championship, the 2014 Ivan Hlinka Memorial and the 2014 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge. He was also named the Top Defenseman in Sweden’s Under-18 league in 2013-14 after scoring 9-16=25 points in 38 games.
