Ducks Sign Berra to One-Year Contract

The Ducks have signed goaltender Reto Berra to a one-year contract through the 2017-18 NHL season. Per club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Berra, 30 (1/3/87), has posted a 2.88 goals-against average (GAA) with three shutouts and a .904 save percentage (SV%) in 71 career NHL games with Calgary (2013-14), Colorado (2013-16) and Florida. The 6-4, 210-pound goaltender posted several career highs during his rookie NHL season with the Flames and Avalanche in 2013-14, including wins (9), appearances (31) and minutes played (1,721). A native of Bulach, Switzerland, Berra has represented his country in numerous international tournaments, including the 2014 Olympic Winter Games, the World Championships from 2012-16 (winning silver in 2013) and the World Junior Championship in 2005 and 2006.

Selected by St. Louis in the fourth round (106th overall) of the 2006 NHL Draft, Berra has also compiled a 26-25-7 record with three shutouts, a 2.77 GAA and .907 SV% in 61 career American Hockey League (AHL) games. He played the majority of the 2016-17 season with Florida's AHL affiliate in Springfield, posting a 2.53 GAA, .910 SV% and three shutouts in 31 games for the Thunderbirds.
