Ducks Sign Beleskey to Two-Year Contract Extension

The Ducks have signed left wing Matt Beleskey to a two-year contract extension through the 2014-15 NHL season. Per club policy, no financial terms of the deal were disclosed.
Beleskey, 25 (6/7/88), scored 8-5=13 points with a +2 rating and 56 penalty minutes (PIM) in 42 games with the Ducks last season. He led the club in hits (103), ranked second in PIM and tied for seventh in goals, while setting career highs in goals-per-game average (.19) and points-per-game average (.31). The 6-0, 206-pound winger also collected 2-1=3 points with a +1 rating and two PIM in all seven Western Conference Quarterfinal games vs. Detroit.
Selected in the fourth round (112th overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, Beleskey has earned 26-30=56 points with 199 PIM in 209 career games with Anaheim. He set career highs in goals (11) and points (18) in his 2009-10 rookie season and career bests in assists (11) and games played (70) in 2011-12. The Windsor, Ontario native has also appeared in 13 career Stanley Cup Playoff games with the Ducks, scoring 3-1=4 points with six PIM.
