Ducks Recall Rakell from Norfolk (AHL); Reassign Defenseman Clark to Norfolk

The Ducks have recalled forward Rickard Rakell from the Norfolk Admirals, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL). In addition, the Ducks have also reassigned defenseman Mat Clark to Norfolk.

Rakell, 21 (5/5/93), has earned three assists (0-3=3) with an even plus/minus rating and four penalty minutes (PIM) in 17 games with the Ducks this season. Reassigned to Norfolk on Dec. 2, Rakell appeared in two games with the Admirals this week, collecting 1-3=4 points with a +3 rating. Selected by Anaheim in the first round (30th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, the 6-1, 200-pound forward has scored 0-7=7 points with six PIM in 39 career NHL games with the Ducks.

Clark, 24 (10/17/90), earned one assist (0-1=1) with a +2 rating and six PIM in seven games with the Ducks following his recall from Norfolk on Nov. 9. Selected by Anaheim in the second round (37th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Clark has one assist (0-1=1) with an even plus/minus rating and six PIM in nine career NHL games with the Ducks. The 6-4, 220-pound defenseman began the season with Norfolk, earning 0-2=2 points with 21 PIM in 11 games.
