The Ducks have recalled left wing Emerson Etem
from the Norfolk Admirals, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL). The Ducks have also reassigned goaltender John Gibson
to Norfolk. In addition, the Ducks placed right wing Kyle Palmieri
on injured reserve after he suffered an upper-body injury during Monday's game at Toronto.
Etem, 22 (6/16/92), has scored 2-2=4 points with two penalty minutes (PIM) in 21 games with the Ducks this season. Reassigned to Norfolk on Nov. 24, Etem posted three goals (3-0=3) with two PIM in five AHL games prior to today’s recall. Selected by Anaheim in the first round (29th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, Etem has collected 12-13=25 points with a +6 rating and 15 PIM in 88 career NHL games.
Gibson, 21 (7/14/93), has appeared in four games with the Ducks this season, posting a 2-2-0 record with one shutout, a 2.28 goals-against average (GAA) and .927 save percentage (SV%). Heading into his fifth appearance, Gibson suffered a groin injury during warmups on Nov. 2 at Colorado and missed 21 games from Nov. 2-Dec. 16. Selected by Anaheim in the second round (39th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, Gibson owns a 21-17-4 record with five shutouts, a 2.37 GAA and .918 SV% in 46 career AHL games with Norfolk.
