ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled center Zenon Konopka from the Portland Pirates, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Konopka, 25 (1/2/81), was reassigned to Portland on Jan. 12 and played two games over the weekend with the Pirates going scoreless. He has played in 15 games with Portland this season, earning 7-10=17 points with 23 penalty minutes (PIM) and a +5 rating.
In two previous recalls this season, the Niagara Lake, Ontario native, has played 22 games with Anaheim, recording 4-3=7 points and 48 penalty minutes. Konopka signed as a free agent on Sept. 1, 2004.
