by Staff Writer / Anaheim Ducks

The Ducks have recalled goaltender Jason LaBarbera from the Norfolk Admirals, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL). In addition, defenseman Bryan Allen has returned from his conditioning stint in Norfolk, but remains on injured reserve. Goaltender Frederik Andersen is day-to-day with minor leg tightness.

LaBarbera, 34 (1/18/80), has appeared in 182 career NHL games, going 60-73-19 with six shutouts, a 2.86 goals-against average (GAA) and .907 save percentage (SV%) with the NY Rangers, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Phoenix and Edmonton. LaBarbera set career highs in wins (17) and appearances (45) in 2007-08 with Los Angeles and recorded a career-best two shutouts in 2008-09 with Los Angeles and 2010-11 with Phoenix. Originally recalled from Norfolk on Oct. 15, LaBarbera has yet to make his Anaheim debut.

Selected by the New York Rangers in the third round (66th overall) of the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, LaBarbera posted a 3-2-0 record with a 2.80 GAA and .898 SV% in five games with Norfolk this season. In his last AHL appearance, LaBarbera stopped 22-of-23 shots for a 2-1 victory on Nov. 1 vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
