The Ducks have recalled left wing Giovanni Fiore from the San Diego Gulls, Anaheim's primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Fiore, 21 (8/13/96), collected 1-1=2 points with two penalty minutes (PIM) in four preseason games for the Ducks. Signed as a free agent on April 18, 2017, Fiore earned 114-110=224 points with a +45 rating and 153 PIM in 281 career Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) games with Cape Breton (2015-17), Shawinigan (2013-16), Drummondville (2012-14) and Acadie-Bathurst (2012-13). He also recorded 18-14=32 points in 38 career playoff contests.
A native of Laval, Quebec, Fiore recorded 52-38=90 points with 42 PIM and a +36 rating in 61 games last season with Cape Breton. The 6-1, 195-pound winger was one of seven CHL players (QMJHL, WHL and OHL) to score 50 or more goals in 2016-17, which also marked the second 50-goal season in Cape Breton franchise history. Fiore led the QMJHL in goals while co-leading in PPG (17), ranking tied for fifth in scoring, seventh in plus/minus, and tied for seventh in points per game (1.48).
