The Ducks have recalled defenseman Mat Clark
from the Norfolk Admirals, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL). The Ducks have also assigned defenseman Shea Theodore
to Seattle of the Western Hockey League (WHL). In addition to today’s roster moves, the Ducks have also placed RW Corey Perry
on Injured Reserve. Perry is eligible to be activated for Anaheim’s game on Wednesday, Nov. 12 vs. Los Angeles.
Clark, 24 (10/17/90), has played two career NHL games with Anaheim, going scoreless in 2011-12. Clark made his NHL debut on Apr. 1, 2012 vs. Edmonton and also appeared on Apr. 3, 2012 at Vancouver. Selected by Anaheim in the second round (37th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Clark scored 0-2=2 points with 21 penalty minutes (PIM) in 11 games with Norfolk this season.
A native of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, Clark has scored 4-38=42 points with 337 PIM in 248 career AHL games with Norfolk, Syracuse and Manitoba. He set career highs in several offensive categories in 2010-11 with Syracuse, including goals (2), assists (14), points (16), games (80) and PIM (128). The 6-4, 220-pound blueliner has also appeared in 10 career Calder Cup Playoff games, earning 1-1=2 points with 13 PIM.
Theodore, 19 (8/3/95), appeared in five games for Norfolk this season, scoring 3-2=5 points with two power-play goals. Selected by Anaheim in the first round (26th overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, Theodore has earned 45-119=164 points in 214 career WHL games with Seattle. The 6-2, 182-pound defenseman was named a WHL Western Conference First Team All-Star in 2013-14 after leading WHL defensemen in scoring (22-57=79) and assists, and ranking third in goals.
