The Ducks have reassigned defenseman Nolan Yonkman
to the Norfolk Admirals, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Yonkman, 32 (4/1/81), did not appear in a game with Anaheim following his Jan. 7 recall. He earned one assist (0-1=1) in two games with the Ducks earlier this season, including his first point with Anaheim on Nov. 29 vs. Calgary. Yonkman has appeared in 31 games with Norfolk this season, scoring 2-5=7 points with a +6 rating and 58 penalty minutes (PIM). He currently ranks fourth on the Admirals in PIM and tied for third in plus/minus.
Signed by Anaheim as a free agent on July 9, 2013, Yonkman has collected 1-9=10 points with a +7 rating and 140 PIM in 76 career NHL games. He made his NHL debut with Washington in 2001-02 and set career highs in points (7), assists (7) and games played (38) with the Capitals in 2005-06.
