The Ducks have reassigned defenseman Nolan Yonkman
to the Norfolk Admirals, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Yonkman, 32 (4/1/81), earned one assist (0-1=1) in two games with the Ducks this season. Recalled from Norfolk on Nov. 23, Yonkman made his Anaheim debut on Nov. 26 at Dallas and scored his first point as a Duck on Nov. 29 vs. Calgary. He returns to Norfolk where he has scored 0-3=3 points with a +1 rating and 31 penalty minutes (PIM) in 18 AHL games. At the time of his Nov. 23 recall, Yonkman co-led the Admirals in appearances and ranked third in PIM.
Signed by Anaheim as a free agent on July 9, 2013, Yonkman has collected 1-9=10 points with a +7 rating and 140 penalty minutes (PIM) in 76 career NHL games. He made his NHL debut with Washington in 2001-02 and set career highs in points (7), assists (7) and games played (38) with the Capitals in 2005-06.
