The Ducks have reassigned center Chris Wagner
to the San Diego Gulls, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Wagner, 24 (5/27/91), was recalled by Anaheim on Mar. 4 and did not appear Saturday’s game against the Los Angeles Kings. The 6-0, 195-pound forward has scored four goals (4-0=4) with 26 penalty minutes (PIM) in 37 games with the Ducks and Avalanche this season.
Wagner began the 2015-16 campaign with Anaheim before being claimed on waivers by Colorado on Nov. 15. He was claimed on waivers again by Anaheim and subsequently assigned to San Diego on Feb. 25. Wagner scored his first four career NHL goals with the Avalanche, including his first two in consecutive games on Nov. 25 vs. Ottawa and Nov. 28 vs. Winnipeg.
Selected by Anaheim in the fifth round (122nd overall) of the 2010 NHL Draft, Wagner has collected 3-1=4 points with a +3 rating and 18 PIM in five games with San Diego this season.
