The Ducks have reassigned defenseman Shea Theodore
to the San Diego Gulls, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Theodore, 20 (8/3/95), was recalled from San Diego on Oct. 17 but did not appear in the following night’s game vs. the Minnesota Wild. Theodore opened the season with the Gulls, earning one assist (0-1=1) with a +3 rating in two games. He has appeared in 15 career AHL games with San Diego and Norfolk, scoring 4-7=11 points with two penalty minutes (PIM).
Selected by Anaheim in the first round (26th overall) of the 2013 NHL Draft, Theodore was named the Western Hockey League’s (WHL) Defenseman of the Year in 2014-15. The 6-2, 195-pound blueliner concluded his WHL career as Seattle’s all-time leader in goals (58) and points (212) by a defenseman. He also won gold with Team Canada at the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship in Toronto and Montreal, scoring 1-1=2 points with a +12 rating in seven tournament games.
