The Ducks have reassigned center Rickard Rakell
and defenseman Jesse Blacker
to the Norfolk Admirals, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Rakell, 21 (5/5/93), earned three assists (0-3=3) with an even plus/minus rating and four penalty minutes (PIM) in 17 games with the Ducks this season. Selected by Anaheim in the first round (30th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, Rakell has scored 0-7=7 points with six PIM in 39 career NHL games with the Ducks.
Blacker, 23 (4/19/91), made his NHL debut with Anaheim on Nov. 28 vs. Chicago, logging 6:03 TOI. Recalled from Norfolk on the morning of his debut, Blacker ranked second among Admirals defensemen in points-per-game (.29), tied for second in assists and third in shots on goal (21). He has appeared in 14 games with Norfolk with this season, collecting 0-4=4 points with nine PIM. Blacker was acquired from Toronto with second-round (Marcus Pettersson) and seventh-round (Ondrej Kase) selections in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft in exchange for Peter Holland and Brad Staubitz on Nov. 16, 2013.
