by Staff Writer / Anaheim Ducks

The Ducks have reassigned defenseman Joe Piskula to the San Diego Gulls, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League.

Piskula, 31 (7/5/84), did not appear in a game with Anaheim following his recall from San Diego on Oct. 24. The 6-3, 205-pound defenseman has played 13 career NHL games with Nashville, Calgary and Los Angeles, going scoreless with 10 PIM. His most recent NHL appearance came with Nashville last season, recording two penalty minutes (PIM) in 16:27 time-on-ice on Apr. 11, 2015 at Dallas.

Signed as a free agent on July 1, 2015, Piskula is scoreless with a +2 rating in four games with the Gulls this season. He has collected 13-102=115 points with a +80 rating and 421 PIM in 537 career AHL games with San Diego, Milwaukee, Abbotsford and Manchester. Piskula has also appeared in 33 career Calder Cup Playoff games, earning 2-4=6 points with 20 PIM.
