Ducks Reassign Moran to Portland

ANAHEIM, Calif. - The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has re-assigned defenseman Ian Moran to the Portland Pirates, Anaheim's primary affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Moran, 34 (8/24/72), has played in one game with Anaheim this season, going scoreless. He was assigned to Portland for conditioning purposes on Oct. 31 and recalled Nov. 6 (went scoreless in three games with Portland). He was signed by Anaheim as a free agent on Aug. 15, 2006.

A native of Boston, Massachusetts, Moran was drafted by Pittsburgh in the sixth round (107th overall) of the 1990 NHL Entry Draft. He has played in 489 career NHL games, scoring 21-50=71 points.
