The Ducks have reassigned defenseman Brandon Montour to the San Diego Gulls, Anaheim's primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Montour, 22 (4/11/94), earned 1-1=2 points with a +1 rating and six PIM in 12 games with Anaheim this season, including his first career NHL goal on Feb. 4 against Tampa Bay and his first career NHL assist on Feb. 9 against Buffalo. He has collected 12-18=30 points with a +12 rating and 32 penalty minutes (PIM) in 34 games with San Diego this season. Montour returns to the Gulls ranking tied for fourth among AHL defensemen in goals and tied for 10th in points, while leading all San Diego skaters in shots (138).
Selected by Anaheim in the second round (55th overall) of the 2014 NHL Draft, Montour has earned 25-72=97 points and a +22 rating in 116 career AHL games with San Diego (2015-present) and Norfolk (2014-15). Montour has also recorded five assists (0-5=5) and a +3 rating in nine Calder Cup Playoff appearances with the Gulls.
