The Ducks have reassigned left wing Brandon McMillan
to the Norfolk Admirals, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
McMillan, 22 (3/22/90), appeared in six games with Anaheim this season, collecting one assist (0-1=1) with two penalty minutes (PIM). The 5-11, 190-pound winger made his NHL season debut on Mar. 4 at Phoenix and picked up his first point of the season in a 2-1 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Mar. 13. Recalled from Norfolk on Mar. 4, McMillan has scored 7-3=10 points with 36 PIM in 36 contests with the Admirals in 2012-13.
Selected by Anaheim in the third round (85th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, McMillan has collected 11-15=26 points with 40 PIM in 91 career NHL contests. He made his NHL debut on Nov. 21, 2010 vs. Edmonton and scored his first career goal in his third NHL game on Nov. 27, 2010, a 6-4 Anaheim win at Phoenix. McMillan ranked tied for third among NHL rookies in short-handed goals (2) during the 2010-11 season.
