The Ducks have reassigned left wing Patrick Maroon
to the Norfolk Admirals, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Maroon, 24 (4/23/88), has appeared in 11 games for Anaheim this season, scoring two goals (2-0=2) with 10 penalty minutes (PIM). He scored a game-tying goal in the third period Mar. 12 at Minnesota (Ducks won 2-1) after his most recent recall on Mar. 11. Maroon collected his first career NHL goal on Feb. 16 at Nashville, beating Pekka Rinne for the game-tying goal in an eventual 3-2 shootout win. Maroon has earned 17-19=36 points with 113 PIM in 48 AHL games this season. He earned AHL Player of the Week honors for the period ending Mar. 10. Maroon currently ranks second among team leaders in goals and points, and co-leads in assists. He was acquired from Philadelphia with David Laliberte in exchange for Danny Syvret and Rob Bordson on Nov. 21, 2010.
