The Ducks have reassigned left wing Nick Ritchie
to the San Diego Gulls, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Ritchie, 20 (12/5/95), collected 2-2=4 points with 37 penalty minutes (PIM) in 33 games for the Ducks during the regular season. The 6-2, 232-pound winger scored his first career NHL goal in a 7-1 win over the New Jersey Devils on Mar. 14 at Honda Center. Ritchie concluded the season on a two-game scoring streak (1-1=2) from Apr. 9-10, including a goal in Anaheim’s division-clinching 2-0 win on Apr. 10 @ WSH.
Selected by Anaheim in the first round (10th overall) of the 2014 NHL Draft, Ritchie has recorded 16-13=29 points and 57 PIM in 37 games with the Gulls this season. He returns to San Diego ranked tied for second among team leaders in goals and tied for first in power-play goals (8). One of nine rookies named to AHL All-Star rosters, Ritchie scored 2-1=3 points as a member of the Pacific Division team at the 2016 AHL All-Star Challenge on Feb. 1 in Syracuse.
