The Ducks have reassigned left wing Nick Ritchie to the San Diego Gulls, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Ritchie, 20 (12/5/95), collected 1-1=2 points with 37 penalty minutes (PIM) in 31 games for the Ducks this season. The 6-2, 232-pound winger scored his first career NHL goal in a 7-1 win over the New Jersey Devils on Mar. 14 at Honda Center. Earning his first recall from San Diego on Nov. 14, Ritchie became the 11th-youngest player to make his NHL debut with Anaheim at 19 years, 11 months and 11 days on Nov. 16 at Carolina.

Selected by Anaheim in the first round (10th overall) of the 2014 NHL Draft, Ritchie has recorded 15-13=28 points and 55 PIM in 33 games with the Gulls this season. He returns to San Diego ranked tied for second among team leaders in goals and first in power-play goals (8). One of nine rookies named to AHL All-Star rosters, Ritchie scored 2-1=3 points as a member of the Pacific Division team at the 2016 AHL All-Star Challenge on Feb. 1 in Syracuse.
