The Ducks have reassigned goaltender Anton Khudobin
to the San Diego Gulls, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Khudobin, 29 (5/7/86), was recalled to Anaheim on Jan. 17, but did not appear in that night’s contest against Los Angeles. Khudobin has appeared in nine games with San Diego this season, posting a 4-4-1 record with a team-leading 2.60 goals-against average (GAA) and a .911 save percentage (SV%).
A native of Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan, Khudobin went 3-3-0 with one shutout, a 2.70 GAA and .908 SV% in eight games with Anaheim this season. He earned his first win as a Duck on Oct. 18 vs. Minnesota and recorded his fifth career shutout in a 1-0 victory on Nov. 7 at San Jose.
Acquired from the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for defenseman James Wisniewski on June 27, 2015, Khudobin has gone 44-39-8 with five shutouts, a 2.42 GAA and .918 SV% in 99 career NHL games with Anaheim (2015-16), Carolina (2013-15), Boston (2011-13) and Minnesota (2009-11). The 5-11, 203-pound goaltender was selected by Minnesota in the seventh round (206th overall) of the 2004 NHL Draft.
