The Ducks have reassigned defenseman Nate Guenin to the Syracuse Crunch, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Guenin, 29 (12/10/82), appeared in 15 contests with Anaheim during the 2011-12 regular season, scoring 2-0=2 points with six penalty minutes (PIM). In his first year with the Ducks, Guenin scored his first career NHL goal on Oct. 7 against Buffalo in Helsinki, Finland and tallied his first career game-winner on Mar. 19 at San Jose. He also finished with a career-high +6 rating, which ranked fourth overall on the team. Acquired from Columbus in exchange for Trevor Smith on Jan. 4, 2011, Guenin has appeared in 27 games for Syracuse this season, collecting 0-5=5 points with 16 PIM.
Originally selected by the New York Rangers in the fourth round (127th overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Guenin has appeared in 32 career NHL games with Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Columbus and Anaheim, scoring 2-2=4 points with 14 PIM. In 375 career AHL games, Guenin has collected 14-69=83 points with a +22 rating and 512 PIM.
