The Ducks have reassigned defenseman Nate Guenin
to the Syracuse Crunch, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Guenin, 29 (12/10/82), appeared in 10 contests with Anaheim this season, scoring one goal (1-0=1) with a +1 rating and six penalty minutes (PIM). Acquired from Columbus in exchange for Trevor Smith on Jan. 4, 2011, Guenin recorded his first career NHL goal in his Anaheim debut on Oct. 7 at Buffalo in Helsinki, Finland. The Sewickley, PA native has also played 21 games for Syracuse this year, collecting 0-4=4 points with 14 PIM.
Originally selected by the New York Rangers in the third round (127th overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Guenin has appeared in 27 career NHL games with Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Columbus and Anaheim, scoring 1-2=3 points with 14 PIM. The 6-3, 207-pound blueliner made his NHL debut with Philadelphia on Jan. 18, 2007 vs. the New York Islanders. In 369 career AHL games, Guenin has collected 14-68=82 points with a +23 rating and 510 PIM.
