The Ducks have reassigned goaltender Anton Khudobin
to the San Diego Gulls, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL). In addition to today’s roster move, the Ducks have sent defenseman Korbinian Holzer
to San Diego (AHL) on a conditioning assignment.
Khudobin, 29 (5/7/86), was recalled by Anaheim on Feb. 14 and backed up Frederik Andesen in the Calgary and Edmonton games on Feb. 15 and 16, respectively. Khudobin has posted a 7-6-1 record with a 2.69 goals-against average (GAA) and .907 save percentage (SV%) in 14 games with the Gulls this season. In his last four starts with San Diego, he has earned three wins (3-1-0) along with a 2.51 GAA and .916 SV%.
Acquired from the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for defenseman James Wisniewski on June 27, 2015, Khudobin went 3-3-0 with one shutout, a 2.70 GAA and .908 SV% in eight games with Anaheim earlier this season. The 5-11, 203-pound goaltender earned his first win as a Duck on Oct. 18 vs. Minnesota and recorded his fifth career shutout in a 1-0 victory on Nov. 7 at San Jose.
Selected by Minnesota in the seventh round (206th overall) of the 2004 NHL Draft, Khudobin has gone 44-39-8 with five shutouts, a 2.42 GAA and .918 SV% in 99 career NHL games with Anaheim (2015-16), Carolina (2013-15), Boston (2011-13) and Minnesota (2009-11).
