Ducks Reassign Cumiskey to Syracuse

The Ducks have assigned defenseman Kyle Cumiskey to the Syracuse Crunch, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Cumiskey, 25 (12/2/86), has appeared in 36 contests with the Crunch this season, scoring 2-14=16 points with 22 penalty minutes (PIM). He was recalled to Anaheim from Syracuse on Feb. 20 (did not appear in a game with Anaheim). Cumiskey was acquired from Colorado in exchange for Jake Newton and a seventh-round selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft on Oct. 8, 2011.
In 2010-11, Cumiskey appeared in 18 contests with Colorado, earning 1-7=8 points with 10 PIM. The 5-10, 185-pound blueliner played a career-high 61 contests with the Avalanche in 2009-10, earning 7-13=20 points. In 132 career NHL games, Cumiskey has earned 9-26=35 points with 48 PIM. Selected by Colorado in the seventh round (222nd overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Cumiskey has also appeared in 132 career AHL contests, scoring 15-53=68 points with 74 PIM.
