The Ducks announced today that they have re-signed defenseman Joe DiPenta to a one-year contract. Per club policy, no financial terms of the deal were disclosed.
DiPenta, 28 (2/25/79), collected 2-6=8 points with 48 penalty minutes (PIM) in 76 games with Anaheim during the 2006-07 regular season. The Barrie, Ontario, native appeared in 16 postseason games during the Ducks’ Stanley Cup championship run, going scoreless with four PIM. The 6-2, 205-pound defenseman has played in 151 career NHL regular season games, earning 5-13=18 points.
A third-round draft choice (61st overall) by Florida in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, DiPenta was originally signed by the Ducks as a free agent on August 10, 2005.
