Ducks prospect Justin Schultz now co-leads all NCAA Division I players in scoring with 11-21=32 points in 19 contests.
Schultz, a junior defenseman playing for the Wisconsin Badgers, is tied with center Jack Connolly (Minnesota-Duluth) and right wing Austin Smith (Colgate). Schultz is the only defenseman ranked in the top 20 among all NCAA scorers this season. Schultz leads Wisconsin in goals, points and power play goals (5), and ranks tied for first in assists. He now has 101 career points, becoming the first Badger defenseman to collect at least 100 since Brian Rafalski did so in 1994-95.
Schultz ranks tied for first in WCHA scoring with 6-12=18 points in 14 conference games (tied with right wing Mark Zengerle, a teammate at Wisconsin). He also leads all WCHA players in assists.
Schultz was drafted by Anaheim in the second round (43rd overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
