Ducks Players & Lady Ducks to Treat Local Youth to Holiday Shopping Spree This Tuesday

by Staff Writer / Anaheim Ducks

Members of the Ducks team and the Lady Ducks (wives and significant others of Ducks players, coaches, broadcasters and management) will host a shopping spree for 10 local youth at Target on Tuesday, Dec. 9. The beneficiaries of the shopping spree are students currently enrolled in programs at the Santa Ana-based nonprofit organization, The Wooden Floor.

In celebration of the holiday season, Ducks Players and the Lady Ducks will treat children from low-income families to gifts that otherwise would not have been possible.

ABOUT THE WOODEN FLOOR
Created in 1983, The Wooden Floor is a nonprofit organization that annually gives 375 underserved local youth the tools to live fuller, healthier lives through a unique approach grounded in dance. The Wooden Floor makes a long-term investment in each of these young people. They engage in intensive dance education supported by academic and family services that change the way they make decisions, helping them to discover and pursue their potential.

Since 2005, 100 percent of The Wooden Floor young artists graduate from high school on time and go on to pursue higher education. This is about three times the national average for their socio-economic peers.
