Ducks "Paint It Orange" This Playoff Season

by Staff Writer / Anaheim Ducks

The Ducks will kick off the postseason with a “Paint It Orange” Beach Party this Sunday, April 12 from 12-3 p.m. at the Balboa Pier in Newport Beach. Fans are encouraged to get into the Stanley Cup Playoff spirit by coming out and helping the Anaheim Ducks “Paint It Orange” around the community. The party will include face painting, a playoff-themed photo opportunity, “Paint It Orange” sand sculpture, DJ JoMaestro and appearances by Wild Wing, the Power Players, local dignitaries and Ducks alumni and broadcasters. There will be a variety of opportunities to win prizes and playoff-themed items throughout the event.

In addition to the Beach Party, other members of the community will “Paint It Orange” to show their Ducks pride. The Discovery Cube Science Center will feature a “Let’s Go Ducks” banner wrap on the cube of the Santa Ana Campus starting Monday, April 13. The support doesn’t stop there – The Irvine Company will be placing Ducks signage throughout Irvine Spectrum Center and Fashion Island as well as a “Paint It Orange Fountain” outside of the Edwards Irvine Spectrum Theatre. Fans can take a photo of themselves in front of the “Paint It Orange Fountain,” post it to social media accounts with #PaintItOrange and #IrvineSpectrumCenter, and be entered to win a $100 gift card and a Playoff Prize Pack. Winners will be selected every two weeks throughout the duration of the Ducks playoff run.

The City of Anaheim, ARTIC, Children’s Hospital of Orange County and The Orange County Transportation Authority will hang Ducks signage on buildings and buses throughout the duration of the postseason. In addition to the community showing support for the Ducks, THE RINKS – Anaheim ICE will paint the Olympic Ice Rink orange on Sunday, April 12. Fans should be on the lookout for the Anaheim Ducks Street Team making local stops every day throughout the playoffs in locations around Orange County. Fans can follow the Anaheim Ducks on social media to find out more information on locations and prizes. In addition, fans that come out to Honda Center on Tuesday, April 14 from 12-1:30 p.m. for the “Car Flag Rally” will get their flag ($5 per flag) personally placed on their car by former Ducks player George Parros.

Every Friday throughout the playoffs, 40 S.C.O.R.E schools will also be displaying creative ways to “Paint It Orange” and wearing their Ducks t-shirts in support of the Ducks playoff run. After each round, one school will be chosen to win a Playoff Pizza Party with Wild Wing and the Power Players.

The 2014-15 postseason marks the Anaheim Ducks third consecutive playoff berth and 11th in franchise history. The club (50-24-7, 107 pts.) clinched its third consecutive Pacific Division title with a 5-1 win over the Edmonton Oilers on April 1.
