The Ducks will open their Western Conference Semifinal series with the Detroit Red Wings on Friday, May 1 at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit. Game 2 will be Sunday, May 3. Anaheim's first home game of the series will be Game 3 on Tuesday, May 5 at Honda Center. The series will follow a 2-2-1-1-1 format.
VERSUS will carry exclusive broadcasts of Games 1 and 4, with NBC carrying Game 2 (nationally, including in Southern California market). The complete local television and radio broadcast schedule will be announced later this week. .
The Ducks advanced to the second round via a 4-games-to-2 victory over the San Jose Sharks in the conference quarterfinals. Detroit swept the Columbus Blue Jackets 4-0 in their first round matchup.
This will be the fifth time the Ducks and Red Wings have faced each other in the postseason
, the last a 4-games-to-2 victory by Anaheim in the 2007 Western Conference Finals, with Anaheim ultimately winning the Stanley Cup. Detroit captured the Cup last season.
Tickets for all three potential Western Conference Semifinal home games at Honda Center will go on sale Wednesday at 10 a.m. PDT (playoff strips are also available).
