Recap: Ducks Drop Preseason Opener 4-1 in San Jose

The Ducks opened their 2018 preseason schedule with a 4-1 loss against the San Jose Sharks at SAP Center on Tuesday night. Anton Rodin scored the lone goal for the Ducks, who held a 1-0 lead early in the second period before the Sharks answered with four unanswered tallies - two of which from Ivan Chekhovich. Rourke Chartier and Barclay Goodrow also scored for San Jose.

Preview: Ducks Open Preseason Schedule Tonight in San Jose

The Ducks open their 2018 preseason schedule tonight with a road contest against the San Jose Sharks at SAP Center. (7:30 p.m. PT, TV: None, Radio: KSPN 710). This is the first of six preseason games for the Ducks, who will return home to host the Sharks on Thursday. From there, the Ducks will take on the Arizona Coyotes at Gila River Arena on Saturday before returning home for games at Honda Center against the Coyotes next Monday and the LA Kings on Wednesday, September 26. Anaheim will close out its preseason slate on Saturday, September 29 at Staples Center in LA, and then open the 2018-19 regular season on Wednesday, October 3 at SAP Center against the Sharks.

Ducks Extend Partnership with Antis Roofing and Waterproofing

The Ducks announced today Antis Roofing and Waterproofing will continue their naming rights partnership for a second year of the Ducks Community Corner program which supports local non-profit organizations. Beginning last season, the Antis Roofing Community Corner program provided tickets to every Anaheim Ducks preseason and regular season home game to local nonprofit organizations through the generous sponsorship of corporate partners. Over 50 nonprofits participated over the past season and over 10,000 tickets were donated.

Prospect Scrimmage Delights Fans, Closes Out 25 Hours of Hockey

An incredible run of 25 consecutive hours of hockey at Honda Center was capped off with an entertaining Ducks prospects scrimmage earlier today. The marathon event, dubbed 25 Hours of Hockey, was held to celebrate the club's 25th anniversary season and to showcase the sport's growth in Southern California. Members of the Jr. Ducks, Lady Ducks, Orange County Police Department, Orange County Fire Department, sled hockey, Learn to Play, Orange County Teachers, Ducks Alumni, and even the Ducks players' dogs took part in the event. Each represented team played for Team "Ducks" or Team "Mighty Ducks" and featured competition from players ranging from age 8 and up.

Ducks Single Game Tickets On Sale Now

Single game tickets for the Ducks' 25th Anniversary season, presented by UCI Health, are on sale now. The Ducks will host their home opener Monday, Oct. 8 vs. the Detroit Red Wings (7 p.m. PT). That will be a rematch of Anaheim's inaugural game on the same date in 1993. The Ducks will wear their 25th Anniversary Third Jersey for 14 home contests, including the home opener.

The Ducks announced today the roster for 2018 Training Camp, set to begin on Friday, September 14 at THE RINKS - Anaheim ICE. Training Camp will be highlighted by the move of the Ducks annual scrimmage to Honda Center on Sunday, September 16, to conclude the club's 25 Hours of Hockey. The continuous game will showcase the growth of hockey in Southern California with teams being represented from the Jr. Ducks, Lady Ducks, Orange County Police Department, Orange County Fire Department, sled hockey, Learn to Play, Orange County Teachers, and many more.

More Tidbits from Anaheim's 3-0 Record in Vegas Rookie Faceoff

The Ducks completed the 2018 Rookie Faceoff with a 3-0-0 record, giving Anaheim seven consecutive wins in rookie tournaments (since 2016). The 2018 Ducks outscored the opposition 21-9. The 21 goals currently lead the tournament (one game remaining between LAK/VGK).  

Anaheim defeated Arizona today by a score of 8-4, behind a hat trick from Kyle Olson (Ducks fourth round pick, 122nd overall in 2017). Max Comtois (second round, 50th overall in 2017) led the Ducks in goals and points in the tournament with 4-3=7 points in three games, while three other Ducks had five points each (Sam Steel, Jack Kopacka and Hunter Drew). Steel (first round, 30th overall in 2016) co-led the team in assists (1-4=5) in two games, while Isac Lundestrom (first round, 23rd overall in 2018) had three goals (3-1=4 points) in two contests.
