Ducks Kits for Kids Donation Drive for CHOC Children's Underway

by Staff Writer / Anaheim Ducks
The Wild Wingers Kids Club and Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC Children’s) have partnered for the sixth annual Kits for Kids Donation Drive, giving Ducks fans the opportunity to purchase Kids Club kits for CHOC Children’s patients. Every $25 Kids Club kit donated will be personally delivered by Ducks players when the team makes its annual holiday visit to the hospital in December.

“Each season we are amazed by the large number of fans contributing to this donation drive,” said Ducks Director of Fan Development Matt Savant. “We hope Ducks fans can make this year our best to date, assisting us in making the holiday season brighter for patients at CHOC Children’s.”

More than 1,200 Kids Club kits were purchased by Ducks fans last year in time for the holidays. Supporters who purchase 2 or more Kids Club kits will receive an autographed Ducks player photo. A donation of 5 or more  kits grants automatic entry into a drawing for a free 20-person suite to an upcoming Ducks game at Honda Center. Those who purchase 10 or more kits will be entered into a random drawing for a meet-and-greet opportunity with Ducks forward George Parros. In addition to the meet-and-greet, the winner will receive a game-used autographed Parros stick and four tickets to an upcoming Ducks game. A 20% discount ($20 each) on each kit will be offered to those who donate four-or-more kits.

CHOC Children’s patients who receive a kit will enjoy a variety of benefits, including one ticket voucher to a select 2011-12 Anaheim Ducks home game, and a free hot dog and soda. In addition, members will receive a Kids Club 12-month hanging calendar, Anaheim Ducks “tough glove” mittens, a Kids Club replica “stache,” a Kids Club George Parros t-shirt and a 10th anniversary timeline puzzle. Also, every member receives a Wild Wingers Kids Club Duck Tag, which provides discounts to the San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Knott’s Berry Farm, Discovery Science Center, Boomers! Irvine, Aquarium of the Pacific, Ultimate Skate, Hockey Giant, and much more. Members also receive tickets to the annual End of the Year Party, which will be held at Knott’s Berry Farm on Feb. 25 featuring George Parros and other Ducks players. Other parties include a VIP holiday skate party at Honda Center and a Kids Club Boomer’s party at Boomers! Irvine.
