Postgame Quotes
LA 0 vs. Anaheim 4
Nov. 1, 2016
4-4-2, 10 Standings Points

Joseph Cramarossa
On the team's performance
That was a pretty complete game against a rival team, especially losing to Columbus like we did [on Friday]. This was a nice bounce-back effort that shows the character of this team.

On his journey to the NHL
It's all happened so quickly. No one really knows the plan going into training camp, but I worked as hard as I could. To get my first game last week, and then play games every other week, and get my first goal, it's just been a crazy week. I haven't had a chance to let it sink in yet.

On the moments immediately following his goal
I don't even remember what I did. I think I put my hands up and the guys came in. They were pretty excited. I saw it cross the line. It was just amazing. I won't forget today.

Rickard Rakell
On his goal
The plan was always to shoot it if I got it. Kes made a great faceoff play, and I just tried to get it through.

On contributing offensively in his season debut
It gives you confidence. I'm hoping to build off of this and try to help the team as much as I can.
I'm not trying to think too much. It's a new game tomorrow. I'm going to go out with the same mindset.

John Gibson
On the team's performance
Any time you can beat LA in its building, it's a positive. We played well on the special teams and stayed out of the penalty box. We knew the last game wasn't our best. We knew we had to respond. It's nice we made a statement.

On the importance of special teams
Any time you can capitalize on special teams it gives you an edge. You see the teams that have success, they usually have success on the power play and penalty kill. It was nice to have that tonight. Hopefully we can keep it rolling.

Head Coach Randy Carlyle
On the team's performance
We were ready to play. From the beginning, we were able to skate and execute. We found a way to push a couple pucks across the line. The power play scored two goals. That's the difference in the game.

On Rakell's impact
I would think nobody would expect it right off the bat, but we know he's a skilled player. We moved him to right wing tonight, and he hadn't played right wing here before. He's going to move around to a bunch of different places for the next little while. Once we solidify our lineup, we'll find him a place to stay on a regular basis.

On Cramarossa's performance
He's worked hard. We moved him up in our lineup. We had him with Vermette and Rakell. We think highly of him. He's been rewarded for his hard work. It wasn't an easy goal to score. He's a scrappy individual. He's played hard for us.

Los Angeles

Anze Kopitar
On the challenges faced tonight
The challenge was coming home after two losses on the road and we didn't respond. That first period was not nearly as good, nor were the other two periods. We've got to play with a lot more emotion and more physical, putting up shots on net. Tonight was just not the game we certainly wanted to play, especially not against a division team.

On areas of improvement
Yeah, we outshot them, but a lot of our shots came from the 'outside,' as we call it. Not nearly enough stuff around the net or right in the slot, so we definitely need to work harder to get those chances in the high scoring areas.

Nic Dowd
On his performance
I thought I played well in some areas and then, you know, lose a draw at the end of the first and they score a big goal. It's pretty pivotal with our team right now. We haven't scored a lot of goals in the last several games so it would've been good to go out that period 0-0. I think I'm feeling more comfortable, but still need to make those plays to avoid those goals against. That is stuff that's got to be done.

On playing alongside Dustin Brown
I'm just getting used to him. He's a guy that likes going north, and that's tendency. Some guys like to pull back, some guys like to make certain plays, and Brownie goes and I know that, so it's good for me to get up the ice too. Plus, I think he's reading off of me too. He knows that I like to pass the puck and he's a shooter, so we complement each other well. I think we played really well tonight, too.

Head Coach Darryl Sutter
On positives from the game
I feel like the Dowd line was really good.

On the season
It's not going to change. Nobody's coming in to save us, to play goal for us, to score goals, or to come up from Ontario. This is our team. So our responsibility is not to use the injuries as an excuse, our responsibility is to try and stay in the race. We'll do some work tomorrow and get ready for our next game.
