Bands are encouraged to submit their best song (MP3 file) via DucksGoal.com anytime until Dec. 27. At least half of a band’s membership must be enrolled at a school currently competing in the Anaheim Ducks High School Hockey League. Each song submitted will be featured on DucksGoal.com with the fans voting for the top four bands. All four finalists will perform at Honda Center during the ADHSHL All-Star Game on Tuesday, Jan. 22. In addition, finalists will have their song featured on DucksGoal.com. Fans attending the All-Star Game will be solicited to vote for the grand-prize winner. The top band as voted by the fans will also receive $1,000 in cash and a song/interview featured in the Anaheim Ducks Beyond the Boards monthly video.
High school students that wish to enter the G.O.A.L. Battle of the Bands competition can visit www.DucksGoal.com for more information. All submissions will also require a photo of the band.
The Ducks launched the Anaheim Ducks High School Hockey League on July 1, 2008 with JSerra Catholic High School (San Juan Capistrano) as its charter member. Santa Margarita Catholic High (Santa Margarita) was added in 2009 and joined by Servite High (Anaheim), Damien High (La Verne) and Lutheran High School of Orange County (Orange) in 2010-11. Over the past two seasons, the four-year old ADHSHL has swelled to 12 schools and 14 teams with the inclusion of Bishop Amat/Upland Christian Academy, Edison (Huntington Beach), Long Beach Prep, Corona del Mar, Huntington Beach, Los Alamitos and Corona-Norco. As the league continues to grow, the Anaheim Ducks will continue to provide financial support for each team involved in the program.
