The 2011-12 Ducks season was unofficially kicked off Wednesday at the 17th annual Anaheim Ducks Golf Classic presented by Honda at Oak Creek Golf Club.  This annual tournament featured Anaheim Ducks players as the “fifth” player participating in foursomes for a round of golf alongside Ducks fans and supporters. The Anaheim Ducks Golf Classic raises funds to benefit the Anaheim Ducks Foundation.

The Golf Classic featured exciting course competitions along with silent and live auctions. The event began with interactive contests versus Ducks players and a pre-shotgun breakfast program where sponsors drafted the Anaheim Ducks player that joined their foursome for an exciting afternoon of golf.  The first round selection of the draft was George Parros followed by Brian Hayward in the number two spot and Ryan Getzlaf as the third overall pick.  The breakfast program also included a live and silent auction, full of great items consisting of Ducks and sports memorabilia, ticket packages, golf experiences and travel packages.

The Golf Classic featured exciting course competitions such as the longest drive, accurate drive, closest to the pin, and guests enjoyed a variety of food on the course courtesy of Morton’s Anaheim, Oggi’s Pizza and Brewing Co. and Melissa’s Produce.

The event concluded with a cocktail reception where winners of the Golf Classic were recognized for their great round of golf with prizes, awards and the Golf Classic Orange Blazer. The winning team this year was Jason Blake’s group.
