The Ducks today announced injury updates to goaltender Ryan Miller and left wing Rickard Rakell. Miller suffered a sprained medial collateral ligament (MCL) in the third period of Sunday's game against the New Jersey Devils. The 38-year-old netminder will be re-evaluated in two weeks, and it is estimated he will be out of the lineup for approximately six weeks.

Miller has a 4-2-1 record with a 2.72 goals-against average and .922 save percentage in 10 appearances this season, and is currently tied with John Vanbiesbrouck (374) for the all-time lead among U.S.-born goaltenders in wins.
Rakell has a sprained ankle, an injury he suffered in the third period against the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday, December 5. There is no timetable yet for his return. The 25-year-old forward ranks second on the club in assists (15) and points (20), and co-leads in power-play points (5) in 30 games this season.
In a related move, the Ducks have claimed goaltender Chad Johnson off waivers from the St. Louis Blues.
Johnson, 32, has posted an 80-67-15 record with eight shutouts, a 2.69 GAA and .909 SV% in 183 career NHL games with the New York Rangers (2009-11), Phoenix Coyotes (2012-13), Boston Bruins (2013-14), New York Islanders (2014-15), Buffalo Sabres (2015-16, 2017-18), Calgary Flames (2016-17) and St. Louis (2018-19).
