Ducks First Round Opponent Possibilities

Having clinched the fourth seed in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, ensuring home ice advantage for the first round, the Ducks will play Nashville in the first round, by virtue of the Blackhawks losing 4-3 to Detroit this afternoon.


The full schedule will be announced tonight at 7 p.m. Pacific on NHL Network and streamed live on AnaheimDucks.com.

The Dallas Stars' game against the Minnesota Wild at 3 p.m. Pacific (aired on NHL Network) will determine the playoff fate of the Stars and Blackhawks. Here are the way the seeds would fall:

If the Stars defeat the Wild in regulation or overtime:
(1) Vancouver Canucks vs. (8) Dallas Stars
(2) San Jose Sharks vs. (7) Los Angeles Kings
(3) Detroit Red Wings vs. (6) Phoenix Coyotes
(4) Anaheim Ducks vs. (5) Nashville Predators

If the Stars defeat the Wild in a shootout or lose in regulation, overtime or a shootout:

(1) Vancouver Canucks vs. (8) Chicago Blackhawks
(2) San Jose Sharks vs. (7) Los Angeles Kings
(3) Detroit Red Wings vs. (6) Phoenix Coyotes
