NASHVILLE – Ducks fans near and far were in attendance for Game 3 of the Western Conference First Round series at Bridgestone Arena. Below are their stories and accompanying photos.Bill and Judy Sikes (above)
Bill and Judy (first two, L-R) are season ticket holders that flew out to Nashville this morning for the game. Joining them in the photo is Jake Casey, a Nashville resident who grew up outside Syracuse, NY. He credits the original Mighty Ducks movie for his interest in Anaheim, and loves Teemu Selanne. Courtney Leal drove down from Indianapolis for the game. Growing up in Southern California, Courtney attended the first-ever Mighty Ducks game back in 1993.
Chelsea, Evan, Marshall (L-R)
Chelsea is originally from Anaheim, and now lives in Columbus, Miss. She drove five hours today to see the Ducks with her husband, Marshall, and friend Evan. Marshall, originally from Nashville, became a Ducks fan after marrying Chelsea. The two met when he was in the Navy in San Diego. This is Evan's first hockey game.
Andi and Connie
This mother-daughter duo drove two hours (from Georgia) for tonight's game. Andi grew up in Newport Beach, and still cherishes her signed Stanley-Cup winning jersey. Josh Curtis (left) was born and raised in San Diego. He moved to Murfreesboro, Tenn., to attended MTSU (Middle Tennessee State University). Tonight marks Josh’s first-ever playoff game.
For his 21st birthday, Jack and his family made the trip from Atlanta. He grew to like the Ducks from the Mighty Ducks movies, and will see his first playoff game tonight.
Andrew Smith and Jacob Joiner
These two flew in from Atlanta to cheer on the Ducks. Joiner adopted the Ducks after the Atlanta Thrashers moved to Winnipeg, and says his favorite player is Teemu Selanne. Both are attending their first playoff game.
Lindsay and Alexis
Both ladies currently call Nashville home. Lindsay grew up in Richmond, Virginia, and started liking the Ducks after seeing the Mighty Ducks movie. It's her first playoff game, but she's already flown to five different games this season. Alexis met Ryan Getzlaf today, getting his signature as he left the team hotel.
Brittany and Jeff
These two drove six hours from North Carolina to see their first Ducks playoff game. Jeff liked the Mighty Ducks movies as a kid.
Wearing a Ryan Kesler third jersey, Carlos has been a diehard Ducks fan for many years. Originally from East LA, Carlos moved to Clarksville, Tenn., but says he still watches every Ducks game.
Eric is a season ticket holder from Orange. A work conference brought him out to Nashville last week, and he stayed an extra day to catch the game tonight.
