Ducks Down Sharks in Pacific Shootout

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. - Ryan Carter scored his third goal of the tournament in overtime to lift the Ducks rookies over the San Jose Sharks rookies 2-1 on Tuesday in the Pacific Division Shootout at Toyota Sports Center.

The victory gave the Ducks third place in the tournament with a record of 1-3.

Bobby Ryan got the Ducks an early 1-0 advantage with his second goal of the weekend.  Ryan beat Sharks netminder Thomas Greiss with an even strength goal at 8:52 of the first period.

The Sharks struck back 35 seconds later when Lukas Kaspar netted a power play goal to even the contest 1-1 at 9:27 of the first period.

After more than 50 minutes of scoreless hockey, Carter ended the game with a one-timer past Griess at 2:58 of overtime.

Ryan and fellow Ducks rookie Drew Miller led the Anaheim squad with four points each in the tournament. 

JP Levasseur got the start in goal for the Ducks and stopped 20 shots in the victory.
