Ducks Devote Sunday's Game to Raising Funds for CHOC Children's
/ Anaheim Ducks
The Ducks will host CHOC Night this Sunday, Mar. 6 when the club takes on the Vancouver Canucks at Honda Center (5:05 p.m.). The long-standing partnership between the Ducks and Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC Children’s) brings CHOC Night to Honda Center for the fifth consecutive year. Throughout the game, fans both in attendance and those viewing on television will learn more about CHOC Children’s mission and be encouraged to donate to the “Change CHOC, Change the World” campaign.
Fans both in-arena and watching Sunday’s game on television can donate to CHOC Children’s in a number of ways. By texting “CHOC” to “90999,” a $5 donation will be made to the hospital. In addition, Pepsi Max will be making contributions on texting donations throughout the evening. For the fifth consecutive year, the popular “Choco Bear” will be available for purchase. Sold for $60 at both The Hockey Spot (North side of the building in the parking lot) and the Southwest Corner of Honda Center pregame, and at Section 212 during the game, each Choco Bear sports a Ducks third jersey and is autographed by a member of the team. American Honda was responsible for underwriting the cost of the Choco Bears. Finally, fans can bid online at www.choc.org/Alberta to win a three-day, two-night vacation to Alberta, Canada courtesy of Travel Alberta and Air Canada. The winner of the online auction will have four different vacation packages to choose from.
Every Ducks corporate partner has joined the cause in raising funds and awareness for CHOC Children’s by donating their dasher board signage as well as commercial inventory on PRIME TICKET for Sunday’s game. All 44 dasher boards around the rink will carry CHOC Children’s signage while all commercial inventory will feature educational information on CHOC Children’s, fundraising opportunities and vignettes recapping the relationship between the Ducks and CHOC Children’s. A complete list of participating corporate partners is included below.
Discounted tickets to Sunday’s game can be purchased online at www.choc.org/events or by calling the CHOC Children’s Foundation at (714) 532-8690. All proceeds throughout the evening will support the “Change CHOC, Change the World” campaign, a comprehensive fundraising campaign which supports, among many things, the creation of a state-of-the-art tower, set to open in 2013.
