Ducks Collect More than 500 Toys at Holiday Toy Drive Skate

by Staff Writer / Anaheim Ducks
The Ducks collected more than 500 toys at a special holiday public skate to benefit the Anaheim Ducks Toy Drive on Saturday, Dec. 4 at THE RINKS – Westminster ICE.

The event was highlighted by a free public skate for those who brought a new, unwrapped toy for the Anaheim Ducks Toy Drive. Along with admission to the holiday skate, each person with a toy donation also received a signed Anaheim Ducks player card and the opportunity to meet Ducks players Corey Perry and George Parros, who were on hand to accept donated toys. Attendees also enjoyed an appearance from Wild Wing and the Anaheim Ducks Street Team during the holiday skate.

Westminster ICE was added to the THE RINKS development program in 2009, joining locations in Anaheim (THE RINKS - Anaheim ICE), Corona (THE RINKS - Corona Inline) and Huntington Beach (THE RINKS - Huntington Beach Inline). With Westminster ICE, the Ducks now operate four local skating facilities, consisting of two ice rinks and two inline facilities. THE RINKS - Westminster ICE is located at 13071 Springdale St., just off the 22 and 405 freeways in Westminster, providing ideal access from all parts of Orange County. In addition to its youth and adult hockey programs, THE RINKS - Westminster ICE offers figure skating, a learn-to-skate program, broomball and public skating.
