The Ducks will open their 2014-15 home schedule this Friday, Oct. 17 at Honda Center against the Minnesota Wild (7 p.m.). Ducks fans are encouraged to arrive early for the Anaheim Ducks’ Home Opener, particularly to take part in the Ducks Red Carpet festivities, beginning at 3:30 p.m. on Honda Center’s south side
. Players will be interacting with fans as they walk the red carpet and will be interviewed on stage by Ducks host Kent French as Wild Wing and the Power Players will be on hand to pass out Ducks gifts and special autographed items to fans.
Fans are invited to make Anaheim Ducks Home Opener festivities interactive by using the hashtags #DucksHomeOpener and #NHLDucks on social media platforms. All fans in attendance are encouraged to be in their seats by 6:45 p.m. for the opening sequence and player introductions. The Ducks enter their first homestand with a 3-1-0 record after posting consecutive wins on Oct. 11 at Detroit (3-2 win), Oct. 13 at Buffalo (5-1 win), and Oct. 14 at Philadelphia (4-3 shootout win). Following Friday’s contest vs. the Wild, the homestand continues with contests against the St. Louis Blues (Sunday, Oct. 19), Buffalo Sabres (Wednesday, Oct. 22), Columbus Blue Jackets (Friday, Oct. 24) and San Jose Sharks (Sunday, Oct. 26).
Honda Center’s brand-new restaurant, Standing ‘O,’ will debut prior to the Ducks’ Home Opener on Friday. Standing ‘O,’ which has replaced Puck’s Tavern, is set to become the ultimate, full-service, pre-event experience with room for 250 guests. The menu includes a variety of hand-selected craft beers, signature appetizers and gourmet burgers, giving a new twist to the sports bar experience. Reservations can be made at www.hondacenter.com up to 30 days in advance of any Ducks game or Honda Center event.
In addition to Standing ‘O,’ the official Grand Opening of Wahoo’s Fish Taco will also take place Friday. As part of the celebration, 50 randomly-selected fans will receive wristbands at the Ducks Red Carpet festivities and be invited to a private party on the Wahoo’s patio. The Patio Party will include a DJ, special giveaways, and complimentary tacos and beverages for those in attendance.
Tickets for Anaheim Ducks’ Home Opener are still available and can be purchased for as low as $36 per seat.
