Ducks center Nate Thompson
had surgery to repair a torn/ruptured Achilles tendon suffered during an offseason workout, Ducks Executive Vice President and General Manager Bob Murray announced today.
"He suffered it during a workout session," said Murray. "We'll be lucky to see him before the trade deadline, but he healed quickly from his shoulder injury."
Thompson, 31, appeared in 49 regular season games in 2015-16, recording 3-3=6 points and 47 penalty minutes. The Anchorage, Alaska native also played in all seven games of Anaheim's First Round series against the Nashville Predators, recording 2-0=2 points and two penalty minutes. Thompson missed the first 25 games of the season due to offseason shoulder surgery.
