The Ducks have assigned center Peter Holland
to the Norfolk Admirals, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Holland, 22 (1/14/91), did not appear in Anaheim’s first three games of the 2013-14 regular season. He played three preseason games for the Ducks last month, earning two assists (0-2=2). Holland appeared in 21 games with Anaheim last season, registering 3-2=5 points with a +4 rating and four penalty minutes (PIM). He scored his first career power-play goal and second career goal overall in a 3-2 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Feb. 18 at Honda Center.
Selected by Anaheim in the first round (15th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Holland collected 19-20=39 points with 68 PIM in 45 games with Norfolk last season. He ranked third on the club in scoring, second in goals and tied for third in assists. The 6-2, 194-pound center was named to the 2013 AHL Eastern Conference All-Star team but did not play in the game due to his initial recall to Anaheim.
