The Ducks announced today the club’s 2009 Rookie Camp roster and schedule, which includes a three-game rookie series against the San Jose Sharks at Sharks Ice from Sept. 7-9.

The Ducks begin Rookie Camp on Saturday, Sept. 5 with a 2 p.m. open practice at THE RINKS - Anaheim ICE. Camp continues in San Jose with three games against Sharks rookies on Sept. 7-9 at Sharks Ice (all games at 7 p.m.).

Featured players on Anaheim’s rookie roster include three first-round draft selections and three of seven picks from the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. From the 2009 draft, center Peter Holland (first round, 15th overall) and defensemen Matt Clark (second round, 37th overall) and Scott Valentine (sixth round, 166th overall) will be making their first appearances at Rookie Camp. They will be joined in camp by previous first-round selections, defenseman Mark Mitera (19th overall in 2006) and center Logan MacMillan (19th overall in 2007). In addition, left wing Matt Beleskey, who made his NHL debut with the Ducks last season, will be among 14 forwards on the 25-man roster.

Holland was selected to play in the 2009 Ontario Hockey League (OHL) All-Star Classic and participated in the 2009 Canadian Hockey League (CHL) Top Prospects Game. He also represented Team Canada at the 2009 Under-18 World Championships in Fargo, ND. Clark spent last season with Brampton (OHL), collecting 3-20=23 points with a +21 rating and 91 penalty minutes (PIM) in 63 games. Valentine split the 2008-09 OHL season with London and Oshawa, combining for 1-8=9 points with 71 PIM in 43 games. After beginning the season at Michigan (CCHA), Mitera made his professional debut with Anaheim’s then-American Hockey League affiliate in Iowa, collecting 0-2=2 points in five games. MacMillan split his fourth Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) season with Halifax and Rimouski, helping lead Rimouski to the QMJHL President Cup Semifinals. Beleskey made his NHL debut with the Ducks in 2008-09, going scoreless in two games. He spent the rest of the season in Iowa, collecting 11-24=35 points in 58 games.
