The Anaheim Ducks and THE RINKS development program today announced a partnership agreement with USC Ice Hockey, the official hockey team at the University of Southern California. As part of the agreement, the Ducks will host USC Ice Hockey Night tonight at Honda Center as Anaheim takes on the Phoenix Coyotes beginning at 5:05 p.m. During the evening, fans can learn more about USC Ice Hockey on the Honda Center concourse and interact with the USC Ice Hockey Street Team.
“The Anaheim Ducks and THE RINKS are excited to partner with USC Ice Hockey,” said General Manager of THE RINKS – Anaheim & Westminster ICE Art Trottier. “USC Hockey has already had a long-term affiliation with the Ducks, having called Anaheim ICE home for over 14 years. This partnership agreement is a natural extension of the strong relationship that already exists between the two organizations.”
Other elements of the partnership agreement include a USC Ice Hockey presence on AnaheimDucks.com and at select future Ducks home games in 2010-11. USC will also receive exposure on Anaheim’s radio and television broadcasts during tonight’s Ducks-Coyotes game. In addition, the collegiate team will receive Ducks memorabilia, tickets and promotional items for future USC Ice Hockey auction and raffle purposes.
With THE RINKS development program launch in February 2009, the Ducks now operate four local skating facilities: two ice rinks and two inline facilities. Westminster ICE was added in August 2009, joining locations in Anaheim (THE RINKS - Anaheim ICE), Corona (THE RINKS - Corona Inline) and Huntington Beach (THE RINKS - Huntington Beach Inline). In addition to youth and adult hockey programs, Anaheim ICE and Westminster ICE offer figure skating, a learn-to-skate program, broomball, curling and public skating.
