The Ducks have acquired a 2025 fourth-round selection in the NHL Draft, defenseman Andrej Sustr and center Nikita Nesterenko from the Minnesota Wild for defenseman John Klingberg. In addition, Anaheim retained 50 percent of Klingberg's salary in the transaction.

Nesterenko, 21 (9/10/01), has scored 11-19=30 points with a +1 rating and 16 penalty minutes (PIM) in 32 games with Boston College this season, setting single-season career highs in points, goals and assists. The 6-2, 183-pound native of Brooklyn, N.Y. has collected 26-47=73 points with a +20 rating and 84 PIM in 93 career NCAA games.
Originally selected by Minnesota in the sixth round (172nd overall) of the 2019 NHL Draft, Nesterenko was named the Hockey East Rookie of the Year and to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team in 2020-21 after scoring 8-11=19 points with a +12 rating and 18 PIM in 24 games.
Sustr, 32 (11/29/90), has appeared in 361 career NHL games with Anaheim and Tampa Bay, recording 11-58=69 points with 163 PIM. The 6-7, 217-pound blueliner recorded five assists (0-5=5) with Anaheim in 2021-22 after being claimed on waivers by the Ducks from Tampa Bay March 8, 2022.
He began the season with the Iowa Wild, Minnesota's primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL), earning 2-10=12 points with a +12 rating and 35 PIM in 39 games. In 123 career AHL games with Iowa, Syracuse and San Diego, Sustr has scored 7-27=34 points. A native of Plzen, Czech Republic, Sustr represented his country at the 2016 World Cup of Hockey and the 2010 World Junior Championship. He also spent three collegiate seasons with the University of Nebraska Omaha of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) from 2010-13. He appeared in 111 career WCHA games with the Mavericks, recording 15-36=51 points with a +19 rating.
Klingberg, 30 (8/14/92), scored 8-16=24 points with 30 penalty minutes (PIM) in 50 games with the Ducks this season, ranking seventh among NHL defensemen in game-winning goals (3) while he is second among Anaheim defensemen in points, goals and assists.
The 6-3, 190-pound defenseman has recorded 79-319=398 points and 243 PIM in 602 career NHL games with Anaheim (2022-present) and Dallas (2014-22). Signed by Anaheim as a free agent July 29, 2022, Klingberg also scored 7-28=35 points in 59 career Stanley Cup Playoff contests, helping the Stars to the 2020 Stanley Cup Final with 4-17=21 points in 26 postseason contests.
