Ducks center Ryan Carter was named to the U.S. team that will compete in the International Ice Hockey Federation World Men's Championship next month in Germany.
USA Hockey named a partial list of 12 players Thursday, with the rest of the roster being named later since many potential invitees are competing in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The World Championship is May 7-23 in Cologne, Gelsenkirchen and Mannheim, Germany. Former Ducks general manager and current Toronto GM Brian Burke is the GM of Team USA.
The 26-year-old Carter, who hails from White Bear Lake, Minn., had four goals and five assists in 38 games for the Ducks this season (including two in the season finale).
He was one of seven forwards named with Brandon Dubinsky of the New York Rangers, Christian Hanson of Toronto, David Moss and Eric Nystrom of Calgary, Kyle Okposo of the New York Islanders and Ryan Potulny of Edmonton.Click here for the current Team USA roster
