Ducks right wing Mike Brown had surgery on Friday to repair a torn abdominal muscle. The injury was the result of wear and tear. Dr. William Meyers in Philadelphia performed the surgery and recovery time is expected to be four-six weeks.
In his second season with the Ducks in 2009-10, Brown recorded new career highs in games played (75), goals (six) and points (seven). The 24-year-old also totaled 106 PIM (including 14 fights) and scored his first career shorthanded goal in a 7-2 Ducks victory over Vancouver on Oct. 30, 2009.
